Trust in Desktop Search

Why I do trust MSN Desktop Search?

Because MS is currently the only one that knows that their software (especially something as high profile as this) will be checked every which way by suspicious people that are attempting to find bugs / back doors / evil messages from Satan, etc.

I tried Google Desktop Search, it was nice, but it didn't use the rich client abilities that my desktop has to offer.
Copernic Desktop Search took way too many system resources, and was a bit too intrusive when I used it.

MSN Destkop Search isn't perfect, I'm using it for a couple of minutes and I've discovered three bugs (two about multi monitor setups, and one about Hebrew file names).

But I wouldn't rule anything out because MS wrote it, or because it's beta. Right now I've plenty of beta software on my computer that I'm using daily (FireFox until it reached 1.0, .Net 2, SQL Server Express, TestDriven.Net {didn't update it yet}, MbUnit, NAnt, etc)

So far, I'm reserving judgement on MSN Desktop Search, I'll try it and then decide. I don't like this blind dismissal, it's not a good bussiness practice.
