Help us select the new RavenDB logo

We run a contest to figure out what the next logo would be, and people came up with some really nice stuff! So nice that we are having trouble figuring out which to choose.
So we thought about asking you

We intend to use the new logo as the basis for a new website and probably some changes to the RavenDB Management Studio, so it is pretty important to us.
And now I can drop the “we” stuff and tell you that I am very excited by all the choices that we have, I am partial to the orange ones, I’ll admit, but that is a long standing weakness

The ones at the top looks like sports wear logo, good logos but for the wrong market.
and the bottom ones looks like oracle wannabes , also good logos but bad vibes for me ;-)

I'd go for 41 or 43, perhaps without the little bit of colour in the V, they look professional and eyecatching, and work well on light or dark backgrounds.

They're all pretty impressive. 45 is my pick though.

Choose a quadratic one. Always handy. Think of favicon, twitter...
36 in Blue
I like the 43/41, 42/46 series but if I were the client I would also ask for spot colour versions before deciding. Gradients look great on screen but they are very hard to print correctly (worst case scenario you end up with bands). An issue you might have with the orange ones is that orange does not print very well in CMYK offset (how most magazines are printed) so no good if you are planning to advertise on MSDN, for example.
Agree with 43 or 41 - lovely!
I really like item #34 because I can clearly see a raven inside the image - since the product name consists almost entirely of "Raven", so its logo should...

I chose 43. It includes 41, and I like the black background best.
These are not very good: 52: it highlights RDB and that is exactly what Raven isn't. 40, 49: it looks like the bird has just left behind the things that fall on people heads on lovely sunny days...

It's a shoe logo not a DB logo.

I'm loving those with the dark background and vibrant blue/red features. I think 46 is the one.

In order: 19, 43 (ha, I get the orange reference!) I like the gradient and the text, 49.
34, 37, and 36 are my least favorite.
34 because you can see the raven.
I'd say 52 or 43 are the best, but that doesn't really look like a bird or a feather... if the logo looked more like a recognizable bird, it'd be great!
36, with 19 as a close second... Everything from 52 on reminds me of a skunk with it's tail in the air

I like the colors and overall style of 46 the best but the image of the Raven is nearly unrecognizable, it looks more like a skunk running to the left. But If you took the black feather from 36 and put it into 46 I think you'd have a winner.

Why so many votes for #40? Looks like someone has shot the poor animal from the sky and it's leaving a trail of blood. But maybe that's just me.

Definitely 41 or 43 - I am also partial to the orange, its very distinctive in a world dominated by red and blue brands. As for the design itself, you can shrink it right down until the raven itself is just a squiggle, and the image as a whole is still distinctly identifiable.

40 / 49 These have the best looking "Raven" part! 28 / 45 are other good ones (esp. when printed on cards etc.)
Ehy, just a quick last minute try, http://i55.tinypic.com/2ep3jhk.png waddaya think? Need to elaborate more on that, but the basic idea for the "A" shape feels good to me.

I like 37 the most. However, I like just the text design. I feel the circle/graphic part isn't necessary except for a clickable icon.

Number 52 is the best. By the way... I dont't see why other logos remark the "V", that's nonsense.

Number 40 looks like a Raven just had its head cut off and is losing a lot of blood. Quite evil and not cool.
Number 43 is my favourite, steering away from the blood reds and corporate blues.

Don't forget to check how the new logo looks at 16x16 size to make sure it is still recongnizable. Don't repeat the mistake of the Rhino you have as site icon on this blog. I thought it was stylized earth globe before I saw a bigger version of the icon in one of the packages I've downloaded. I knew about the Rhino log since before, but the small version looked different enough that I did not recognize it.
